BRAHMANBARIA: Bashundhara Foundation distributed Tk 5 million to poor people as interest-free loan in Banchharampur upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Tuesday. The soft loans were distributed at the Foundation office at the ancestral home of Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, chairman of Bashundhara Foundation, at Durgarampur village. While distributing the loans among poor, BG advisor Mainal Hossain Chowdhury said, “Bashundhara group has created a new example in giving interest-free loan.” Nearly 765 members got over Tk 50 lakh as interest-free small loans Thursday, he informed. Among others, Bashundhara Group AGM Maimun Kabir, Banchharampur Sadar Union Parishad chairman Hazrat Ali, principal of Banchharampur Sobhania Islamia Aleem Madrasa Ruhul Amin and Bashundhara Foundation executive engineer Shafiqul Islam were present in the occasion.
